Wayne

Investor, Captain

Wayne Cohen is a co-founder and captain of Sailing Dharma, a Jeanneau 57–based sailing and
meditation experience that weaves together ocean, breath, and inner stillness.

A lifelong waterman, Wayne has been sailing since childhood and has spent thousands of hours
on the water surfing, paddle surfing, and now foiling along the Malibu coast. For him, the sea
has always been more than a playground—it’s a moving temple, a place where the mind quiets
and the heart remembers what matters.

Professionally, Wayne has spent more than three decades as a trial lawyer and managing partner
of a nationally recognized injury firm, advocating for people whose lives were upended in an
instant. That work opened him to the realities of trauma, resilience, and the human need for
safety and meaning—on and off the record.

Wayne also has years of formal training and is a PhD candidate in East–West Psychology,
studying how intuition, meditation, and Integral Yoga can support high-stakes professionals and
trauma survivors alike. Sailing Dharma grew out of that inquiry: a simple question of what
happens when you take people off the grid, onto the ocean, and give them a safe space to breathe,
notice, and reset.

Today, Wayne leads intimate sails from Marina del Rey toward Malibu, where guests experience
a blend of gentle practices—breathwork, mindfulness, sound, journaling, and quiet
reflection—held within the rhythm of wind, waves, and sky. His guiding belief is simple: you
don’t have to sit on a cushion for 49 days to feel a shift. With the right setting, a few good
practices, and a bit of courage, transformation can begin in a single afternoon at sea.
